Some Questions
pollypread, 19:23h
Hi everybody, this is Simone and I will be one of your "care-takers" in the upcoming days at Berlin. I would like you to start thinking about the topic we have set. Europe, Pride and Prejudice of a Nation.
Thinking about it myself, some questions came on my mind that may be interesting to discuss.
Does a European identity exist?
If there is an over-european image, is it international? Is it an accumulation of the various national identities? Or is this identity just the assembly of European regulations, laws and trading-goods?
If we create a European identity, will we loose our specific cultural background? Do we really share the same dreams?
Branding Europe - In times of globalisation, juveniles listen to the same music (more or less), wear the same clothes, drink the same lemonade and eat the same burgers.
What do we know about each other?
There are a lot of stereotypes about your nations: Let me start very simplified and bear in mind that I don't want to hurt your feelings, but try to see some humour and irony in it! Some of the things are part of the nations pride, others are my prejudice. The difference lies only in the positive or the negative aspect.
Italians eat Pasta every day. Every Italian can sing dongs from the opera. They adore children and have many.
Polish people are very catholic and drink vodka every day. All the stolen cars of the world go to Poland. Every one learns to play an instrument from childhood on.
I have no clue about Latvia, but I have heard there is a lot of vodka, too and loads of snow in endless winters. My ancestors came from there.
Turkish people check sausages three times, because they do not eat pork. They are very religious and love their children. Beside this they can do the belly-dance and do it every day.
The Germans: They love their cars and dogs more than their children, drink beer even for breakfast, are very correct and organised.
Now you! Let us hear your thougts about it.

Turkish Style!
You know that Turkey is in the middle of asia and europe. These land includes lots of cultures.People in south and north side of Turkey are different cultures.Because here is also very large country. But For Turkish Youth live the same culture between age 17-25 maybe you can see this in Germnay because lots of Turkish live there. What is this culture?
Its very interesting,For feeling and living this culture you must use slang sentence,be minded, only smile when you are taking alcohol :) like this! You must use paternoster (Traditional for Turkey) You can select heavy sentence which include deep meaning, its more stylish :) and all of them know two or three sentence german from old german movies :)) and bla bla bla... You can see on berlin,we can play it for you. After age 25 you turn back and see your own near history and said that who is that, what is this culture, look these boys its to funny. But if you are youth boy in Turkey you will live this stage.
Interesting Human Type!
